Northwest Elementary adopts this belief, through a cooperative team comprised of parents, teachers, administrators, and Board of Education members who believe that all students can learn.  This team will work together to provide a positive and safe educational setting that will enable students to learn the essential skills, knowledge, and character development necessary to succeed to the next level of their education.

Northwest Elementary has continued to grow rapidly in its enrollment and the number of certified and support staff members, including a Counselor and Media and Reading specialists, since it's opening in 1981.  It now houses Pre-Kindergarten through Fourth grade classes, offering curriculum that is recognized by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.  Programs for gifted students and students with special needs are offered at every grade level, as are art, music, physical education, and after school tutoring.  N.W. works in partnership with the community through their Parent-Teacher organization, its corporate sponsors, Blue Bell Ice Cream, Ralph Sanders and Associates, and the Coweta Education Foundation.  Through these partnerships, N.W. has funded a computer lab, motivational programs, and additional classroom resources.
