Welcome to the Coweta Public Schools Department of Curriculum and Instruction.  The department is organized into four instructional branches:  Elementary Education, (PreK-3), the Intermediate Grade Centers (grades 4 through 6), the Junior High School (grades 7 and 8), the Intermediate High School (9th grade), and High School (grades 10, 11, and 12).

Curriculum and Instruction is committed to the vertical and horizontal alignment and development of a Pre-K through 12th grade Oklahoma Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS) objectives based student centered learning.  The curriculum alignment Pre-K through 12th grade continues to be developed by talented teachers throughout the district resulting in a comprehensive sequential delivery of instruction.

Curriculum Mapper, the web based curriculum tool, helps reach the desired instruction for students between what is written, what is taught, and what is tested (Fenwick English).  The curriculum maps contribute to the attainment of the following instructional goal:
Provide consistent quality PASS based instruction and/or alternative curriculum for all students, resulting in improved student achievement.

In addition to the emphasis on learner centered instruction we reinstitute an excitement for learning in a nurturing environment to ensure consistent quality instruction in every classroom.

Another goal of Coweta Public Schools:  To increase participation in advanced academic courses with successful completion of advanced placement exams and increase the average SAT/ACT score and focus on encouraging students to achieve their maximum potential.

The office of Curriculum and Instruction will focus on providing professional development for teachers and curriculum and instruction tools to ensure we meet our goals of students engaged in learning in a nurturing environment to develop critical thinkers and life-long learners.
